A half-dozen counties are expected to increase their square footage of self-storage by 40 percent or more, according to a TractIQ analysis of proprietary data. Dawson County, Neb., is likely to expand its self-storage capacity by 90.9 percent, adding 146,000 square feet to its current 14,581 square feet.
The Nebraska county is trailed by Panola County, Texas, which is likely to add 67.2 percent to its current 107,158 current gross square footage; Teller County, Colo. (+43.7 percent to the current 93,144 square feet); Manassas City, Va. (+41.8 percent to the current 134,594 square feet); and Albemarle County, Va. (+41 percent to the current 564,219 square feet).
